Aluminium Trade Fair | Amcor Capsules Collaborates with Moët & Chandon to Launch Plastic-Free Aluminium Foil

Amcor Capsules, a leader in designing and manufacturing eco-friendly capsules and closures for wine and spirits, plans to launch ESSENTIELLE in October 2024. According to the Aluminium Trade Fair, this innovative plastic-free foil is made from Aluminium and paper and is developed in collaboration with the renowned Moët & Chandon, a part of the LVMH group. As Moët & Chandon pursues sustainable packaging, the ESSENTIELLE Aluminium foil is expected to revolutionize the industry with its lower carbon footprint and high recyclability.

ESSENTIELLE foil represents a groundbreaking advancement in the packaging industry. This Aluminium foil is made from paper produced in Europe and about 60% Aluminium, significantly reducing environmental impact. Compared to traditional plastic foils, ESSENTIELLE's carbon footprint is reduced by 31%. Known for its excellent recyclability, Aluminium maintains the aesthetic appeal and customizability that high-end brands like Moët & Chandon seek.

Moët & Chandon, with over 280 years of history and managing the largest vineyards in the region, perfectly aligns with Amcor Capsules' innovative approach. This collaboration aims to enhance packaging responsibility without compromising quality or productivity. Moët & Chandon's production capacity can handle over 12,000 bottles per hour, necessitating sustainable and efficient solutions.

Aluminium plays a crucial role in ESSENTIELLE. It not only contributes to significantly reducing carbon emissions but also ensures the durability and aesthetic appeal of the combined foil. The CITEO TREE evaluation tool has validated the recyclability of Aluminium with French glass recovery systems, enhancing the material's environmental benefits. Aluminium's ability to retain its properties through multiple recycling processes further highlights its value in sustainable packaging.
