Aluminium Expo|The Yunnan Hongbang High-end Aluminum Alloy Project with Annual Production of 200,000 Tons Officially Enters the Trial Production Stage

On the morning of March 15, 2024, the opening ceremony for first phase of the equipment trial operation with a load for the project with an annual production of 200,000 tons of high-end aluminum material by Yunnan Hongbang New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yunnan Hongbang") was held within the factory area. This marks the official entry of Yunnan Hongbang's 200,000-ton high-end aluminum alloy project into the trial production stage.

Yunnan Hongbang New Materials Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 100 million yuan, was established solely by Guangdong Hongbang Metal Aluminum Co., Ltd. Yunnan Hongbang is responsible for the investment and construction of the high-end aluminum alloy material project with an annual production of 200,000 tons. The project mainly targets the high-end aluminum demand of future industries such as new energy vehicles, 5G communications, and 3C electronic products. It relies on the green hydroelectric aluminum production of Yunnan Shenhuo Aluminum Co., Ltd. to produce high-end aluminum alloy products and utilizes the surrounding resources for recycled aluminum production. The design capacity of the project is to produce 200,000 tons of high-end aluminum alloy materials annually, with 100,000 tons of high-end aluminum alloy materials produced annually in the first phase.

According to Aluminium Expo, the construction and implementation of the Yunnan Hongbang project holds significant strategic importance for Hongjin New Materials Group in terms of extending its business sector and product line in the future green and high-end primary aluminum alloy business. It complements and perfects the series of high-end aluminum products produced from green hydroelectric, aiding the company in growing stronger and improving its quality. It is also a key direction in the "14th Five-Year" development plan of Guangzhou Industrial Control Group to make the non-ferrous metal industry a focus for the development of new material sectors, serving as an important measure to "extend, enhance, and strengthen" the supply chain. By utilizing Yunnan's scarce green hydroelectric aluminum resources to produce high-end green aluminum alloy products, the industry chain is well extended upstream, ensuring the supply of high-quality, stable upstream green hydroelectric aluminum resources. This will provide strong support for Guangzhou Industrial Control's future expansion into downstream industries of the aluminum industry chain, enhancing the size and strength of the aluminum industry.
